What is the Lincoln Star Concept?

In an effort to move away from gas-powered engines, Lincoln has fully embraced an all-electric future with plans to launch three new electric vehicles in the next few years, and a fourth by the end of 2026. This will result in more than half their global sales being zero-emissions vehicles.

The Lincoln Star Concept is the world’s first look at the design and technology you can expect from the Lincoln EVs. In the words of Jim Farley, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company, they wish to “combine Lincoln luxury with flexible electrical architecture to create unimaginable experiences for customers.”

The Lincoln Star Concept Electric Vehicle Lineup

In the new Lincoln world, the sedan will be a thing of the past. The luxury brand will be made up exclusively of SUVs in a range of sizes, from the compact Corsair to the full-size Navigator. The flagship Star Concept SUV will feature two rows of seats with luxury seating for four people.

Lincoln has hinted that the propulsion system will be similar that that of the Ford Mustang Mach E, with dual electric motors and a range of battery sizes. The models will likely come with standard all-wheel drive and an adaptive suspension system.

Lincoln designers and engineers will use advanced technology to create a totally immersive experience in the new concept car. High-tech displays and controls will activate via voice control and touch screens, eliminating the need for unsightly buttons and knobs.

Interior technology will incorporate innovative lighting, sounds, and scents to create experiences and themes that push various moods. What Lincoln terms ‘immersive digital sanctuaries’ will include themes like Mindful Vitality, Coastal Morning, Evening Chill with a night sky video, and Lincoln Embrace.
